Cotinga Substitute (Ring Neck Feather)

For another great Cotinga Substitute See  Asian Kingfisher

Cotinga Substitute as seen above. 10 feathers per package. I use the white neck feather from the Ring Neck Pheasant.

Specify Light for C. cayana or Dark for C maculata

While most folks seem to use them just as you see them in the picture above. I prefer to prep them by using saliva (not water) on my finger and thumb and pulling the feather through a couple times. I let the feather dry in the compressed state as you see in the picture below then flick it with your finger a couple times to loosen. It should stay in a semi compressed state that is shown below.
