Description
Gadwall or as Bud calls them Gray Ducks offer beautiful barred flank feathers similar to Green Wing Teal but darker and much larger. Note the outer edges on the picture above; these are selected for their ability to marry with Wood Duck and make shoulders on classic patterns. There are roughly 7 pairs of these per bird. They are the very upper edge feathers on the bird’s flank similar to the location of the barred feathers of the Wood Duck.

I supply John with quite a bit of this grey duck flank. The quality is superb. I know this because I only send him the best of the best. Big flank feathers from mature birds with very dark barring. When used on your salmon flies you’ll know you’ve used the best and most beautiful quality avalibl
