FROM THE EDITOR
Another meeting of the Group occurred in August, and with that meeting came a few additions to the scope of The Salmon Flyer. As in the past, it will be issued quarterly, there is still a $5.00 (subject to increase) fee necessary to cover copying and mailing charges. And, once again, you will have one year in which to submit an article to be published. You do not have to submit an article/question with your mailing fee. You do need to exercise some type of literary creativeness within a year, or be dropped from the mailing list. However, there is a Catch-22 that did not come up at the Conclave meeting.
With the mailing of this issue of the bulletin there is: 1) most likely not enough funds available to publish this current issue and another edition; 2) there are no new submissions to place in the bulletin, if there were funds with which to publish it. In very plain words this means that if new submissions are not received by December 5, 1990 there will not be a Winter '91 edition of Salmon Flyer; and, if your mailing fee is not in by the same date you won't make the mailing list for January to receive what is published (if anything). If you only wish to send in the mailing fee at this time, that's fine. You'll have a year in which to contribute. If the all the persons of the mailing list wish to wait that year, the next issue of the newsletter will be January 1992.
In this issue of the newsletter there will be space devoted to those members wishing to advertise items to sell, or trade. With our space limitations it is not possible to list every item that could appear in this section, so there will be some restrictions. You can place a maximum of two notices (two ads, or two trades, or one of each) not to exceed fifty words in length each, to run for one year from submission (unless) removal is requested sooner. A new ad/notice may be submitted for each issue, if desired. No price quotations may be given. A copy of a business card, or logo, may be used in place of a written ad/notice, not to exceed 3 1/2" X 2" in size. There will be no charge for this service. Deadline for submission is 5th of each month preceding publication (December, March, June, September). The Editor will reserve the final decision to approve printing of any ad or notice. Persons using this service will not be given a copy of the newsletter mailing list, nor will any ad/notice be given to any other source.
One additional point, concerning advertising. The Editor will not be responsible for errors in the advertisement listing, guarantee the quality of what is advertised; or insure that sale, transportation, possession, or use of any material offered on these pages is legal through the laws of the United States, or any of it's States, possessions, or territories. (Remember this bulletin is being mailed, and there are laws that restrict what the mails will tolerate!).
We have some fine contributions for this edition, I hope you enjoy the reading.
