WHOSE HEAD IS THIS ANYWAY?

Why devote an article to the topic of salmon-fly heads? Good question, but perhaps by showing examples from different tiers, it may help in your own tying.
Here is a little quiz in which you try to match the salmon-fly head with the tier; some tiers are represented more than once (see illustrations on next two pages). This is a very tough quiz, with a difficulty level of ten on a scale of one to ten. I, of course, got a perfect score (on the nineteenth try).
Match each head with a tier and add up your correct answers. Remember--this quiz is TOUGH!!! A holy man from India only scored a twelve, and he took three days.
A) Wayne (Wulf Wulf) Luallen
*B) Paul (For Free) Ely
*C) Dick (Two Tone) Jones
D) George M. (Muffy) Kelson
E) Ernest Crosfield
F) T.E.(Tee Hee)Pryce-Tannatt
G) Antique head-unidentified
H) Mark (Wa Wa) Waslick
I) Bob Veverka
J) Charles (Big D) Ackroyd
K) Syd (El Cid) Glasso
L) Ron Alcott
M) Poul Jorgensen
*N) Bill (More Dams) McMillan
O) William (9/0) Chinn
(Like hot and spicy food on a Chinese menu, hard-to-identify tiers are marked with an asterisk. Give yourself a pat on the shoulder if you get them all.)
To determine your rating, compare your number of correct answers with the chart below (answers found elsewhere in the issue).
